The Shunammite & Her Son

Updated 11/30/11

2-Kings chapter 8:1-6 shows a picture in Type of those who remain in the persecuted Woman Church after Armageddon. We are then shown (in type) in Daniel chapter 9 how those who've repented and turned again to the LORD will receive their deliverance at the end of the prophetic seventieth week. This group includes those in the woman (some of whom will be martyred during the time of "great tribulation" & "indignation"), and apparently all of the other saints who will have inherited this realm or level of relationship during their lifetimes but are now departed: Mark 13:27. Furthermore, there will be another group of saints called "the man-child," who although still considered part of the "elect church"/"New Jerusalem" during the seventh millennium, will resurrect onto perfection after which they are called the "Faithful," as found in Hebrews 11:39-40.

The Bible describes this divinely (newly) appointed two-fold government all throughout the scriptures as the "gold" and "silver" (realms) in God's house. To see this newly formed government of God one needs to first understand the meanings of the different types in the Bible. More specifically though, one needs to understand that when the Bible speaks of a “woman,” she can represent (in type) the Church at a certain stage of development (i.e., the "elect lady": 2-John 1:1). The verses in 2-Kings chapter 8 are probably the strongest characterization of the end-time woman's deliverance (thy Kingdom come [in] earth as it is in Heaven...) that the Bible has to offer us. It shows this woman had a son who died (the Man-child/Two Witness Co. of Revelation 11 & 12) but was brought back to life.

"And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up [the secret coming; spiritual rapture] unto God, and to his throne." Revelation 12:5

"And when they shall have finished their testimony [42-months after the great tribulation starts], the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them." Revelation 11:7

"And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them [this is what could be called a "physical rapture," after the 42-months but before the indignation gets underway]." Revelation 11:11-12

It says this woman had to sojourn a full "seven years" wherever she could, and the place she chose was not always God's best. There is a  principle in Numbers 14:34 where a day can equal one year. Now Messiah was given one prophetic week to minister. Thus, 3.5 years of Jesus' ministry + 3.5 years the Two Witnesses will be given to minister equals a total of seven prophetic years. It says at the end of the seven years she (the Shunammite) finally returns to "the King" (John 11:28-29) to plead for the state of her condition. Now it says the King "restores" all that was hers plus "all the fruits of the field" (that which the locust and the palmer worm have eaten). I believe this is the point in time when these brethren will have their tears wiped away, but those just saved during the great tribulation, which includes natural Israel, will have to do business with God and the Holy Spirit before they come to the point of total surrender and deliverance. You see, some of these in the "Holyplace" Woman Church will not be considered "faithful" in heart or with the time that was given them. Nevertheless, they were still pushing in much more than the rest of their brethren who only desired to stay in the outer-court milk churches. Those in the woman will have gone through many times of testing and trials and much deliverance will have been accomplished, but not all! Keep in mind, those in the post- great tribulation Woman Church, those who are ready to become members in the "New Jerusalem Church" are there because they spent many years prior seeking God for His total deliverance, and we know total deliverance takes much time and suffering (dying to self): Philippians 2:12; 1-Peter 4:18. Whereas those of the woman who were faithful onto the death get to resurrect and become members in God's Zion (His Capital within the New Jerusalem).

"Then spake Elisha [Christ] unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise [here are two wings of an eagle], and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years [3.5 + 3.5]. And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines [the wilderness] seven years. And it came to pass at the seven years’ END [the judgment seat of Christ], that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land [her possession: her heritance in Heaven]. And the king talked with Gehazi [ministering angels] the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha [type of Yeshua] hath done. And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life [Rev 11:11], that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life. And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer [the Holy Spirit], saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field [9 +3 =12] since the day that she left the land, even until now." 2 Kings 8:1-6

The Types In 2-Kings 8

Elisha:

A type for Yeshua in this story, but Elisha is also used as a type for the Two Witnesses who will be given the "double portion" ministry (the former and the latter rain co,) that go forth in Revelation.

The Woman (The Church in the Wilderness):

This "woman" in 2-Kings chapter 8 will be comprised of the Christians who were "nourished in the wilderness” during the time of "great tribulation"; those who "birthed" (helped produce) the Man child, but were not quite ready themselves to enter into the wedding chamber. Those that survive of this group, those who "remain alive" and come to the 1,335-days after Armageddon (Dan 12:12), those who do get the oil will just be "changed in a moment" to be like their first-fruits counterparts, only they do not obtain onto the same place of authority (i.e., they will rule, but not so much reign with Christ); that place of authority has been reserved for those who were "first" ready and faithful in their life times. As was mentioned earlier, others will be included in this first resurrection at the beginning of the thousand year reign (those gathered from the "four winds" [corners] of heaven & earth": Mk 13:27), but only God knows who these brethren are. They are who I call "the Ten" & "five cities" of rulership brethren, as found in Luke 19:19. Then throughout the thousand years others will have this same opportunity to overcome all things as they too deal with their contrary natures. I suspect many will be able to acquire this change very quickly in the beginning of the thousand years, seeing these will remember how bad things got in the last age, and what God had to do to correct it. However, their seed, and their seeds seed, will start to find it a bit more difficult (tempting) once the miraculous becomes the mundane, and the human nature starts to rise up once again. Keep in mind, the free-will is still present in mankind at this time as it will always be. Yes, Satan will be bound, but man by himself still possesses the ability to rebel. Heylel (Satan's name before his fall) never had anyone tempt him that we know of, and look at how close he was to God! So God has appointed a thousand years to complete the process (John 7:23) of mankind coming into God's image and likeness. Yet, many will still be in the place of decision just like some of us find ourselves in at the end of this dispensation. It says God will then loose Satan one last time to try those who dwell on the Earth to see which way they will go, and that is why Satan must be loosed; I call it "the final sifting."

The Woman's "Son":

This is the Church that comes out or splits from the woman church at the time of the "marriage." It should be no surprise to anyone that there have always been differing levels of commitment in the household of God; not everybody obeys the Holy Spirit as they should. Still, God has promised He would have a people that would in fact surrender all to Him. Although the Bible tells us they too are still asleep at their post. These are the only people God will be able to trust with the "double portion" of His power once the appointed time arives. These brethren have always been referred to in the Bible as the "remnant" that God has saved for Himself. The last group of these brethren (those at the end of this present Church age) will come forth when total destruction is about to destroy all life on the Earth. These saints will be given the power to stop this madness. These will be the only Christians walking just as Jesus walked. These will be the ones selected to finish the last 42-months of Yeshua's ministry as spoken of in Daniel 9. These are those who will allow themselves to be taken prisoner (overcome) by the beast system people at the end of the 1,260-days (see timeline). They are then martyred and resurrected three days later. These overcomers become part of the "Church of the first born" upon their resurrection. So this is the woman's son that was dead and now lives. Jesus also fits this type, but in the context of 2-King 8 it is more appropriately applied to the end-time Sons of God group.

Seven Years of Sojourning:

God shows us in His Word that He does not keep time the way we do ("a thousand years is as a day..."). Additionally Daniel 9 reveals how one week can equal seven years if we use the God ordained formula found in Numbers 14:34, which is derived using simple math. Daniel speaks of 70-weeks from when Jeremiah received the word from God to rebuild Jerusalem and to accomplish the cleansing thereof. However these weeks do not run consecutively. God said it would then be 69-weeks till Messiah would come, or 483-years (69 weeks x 7 (years) = 483 yrs. Daniel said he figured this much out just by reading the prophets). After which Jesus would be given a seven year (one prophetic week: the 70th week) ministry in which to restore "Jerusalem" and put an end to sin in her forever!

"Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks [69-weeks]: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times [the great tribulation]. And after threescore and two weeks [i.e., 3.5-yrs] shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come [the harlot church] shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood [persecution], and unto the end of the war [Armageddon] desolations are determined. And he [Jesus] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [seven years]: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation [of the Old testament offerings] to cease [by being crucified], and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [allow] it [God's temple/mans' soul to become] desolate, even until the consummation [the abomination fully set-up, i.e., the end of the 1,290-days: Dan 12:11], and that determined shall be poured [God's fierce wrath] upon the desolate." Daniel 9:25-27

"And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness. After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise." Numbers 14:33-34

Restored A Dead Body/Son Restored To life:

The "body" that gets restored to life is the true Body of Christ. That portion of the Church which obeys the Head. God has given us a very simple way to understand the difference between the Church and the Body and the difference is based on Spirit led functionality. Simply but, those in the Body have learned to obey the Head, those outside of the Body obey not the Head, they have learned to feignedly obey God and then continue on their own way just like king Saul did (Jer 3:10). If everybody who asked Jesus to come into their lives was considered to be a member of the Body, I am afraid that body would be mostly paralyzed from the neck down. The Head must be in control of His body. The moment we choose not to obey the Holy Spirit's leading in our lives is the moment we are not in the Body of Christ. Although we would remain as part of His Church (the called out). So these in the true Body of Christ are those who are alive, watching, and moving in obedience to the Spirit and the Word at the time of the bride grooms coming, which is shortly after the "midnight" cry. These are they who were busy about the Masters will, dying to self, submitting one to another in God's divine order, and dealing with "the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life," well before gross darkness/great tribulation fell upon the Earth. Without a doubt many will be able to repent at that time, but they will not—cannot—be considered "the first ripe fruits of the Earth." You will find the Bible calls this group by many names like "the Two Witnesses," "the Man child," "Gideon's 300," "the 144,000," etc.

The Certain Officer:

This could only be "the Captain of the host of the LORD" (Jos 5:14; Isa 55:4) who is able to deliver the fullness of the fruit of the Spirit onto man: the Holy Spirit.

All The Fruits Of The field:

Most Christians understand that Galatians 5:22-23 speaks of the fruit (singular) of the Spirit which is comprised of nine attributes, but the Word tells us that "twelve" is the number of corporate completeness, that is why in Revelation 21 everything speaks of twelve. This is also why Christians can still fall short after they are only saved but not sanctified. We must be delivered from all iniquity before we can ever hope to partake of the fruit of the tree life. For once we eat of that tree, which possesses the twelve fruits, we can never be given another chance to repent again, because unconditional accountability will be at hand. Once again the types tells us that "twelve" is the number for corporate completeness/perfection.

"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." Genesis 3:24

"And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month (x 12): and the leaves of the tree [not the fruit] were for the healing of the nations." Revelation 22:1-2
